Peter Pan doesn't shop!

So, I've never really liked shopping all that much. I don't mind getting gifts for others, I like doing that. But it is hard for me to get a new pair of pants even when the three pair I own are falling off me and apart. So I broke down and got a pair when I was getting my sisters' gifts the other day. Wes also gave me an early gift of new shoes, he is the best... I figured I should try to look presentable before I get to Utah. It was a big hurdle for me to get that pair of pants, now i just need one more and some nice shirts... :-( Guess that is what I am doing on Monday...
I have been trying to think of things to put on my Christmas list... Wes is doing better than I am, he should have his list on his blog soon. Some really useful things might be gift cards to a salon, I have been fighting to keep my hair since boot camp, deep conditioning treatments help alot!
Since I am in need of new clothes, gift cards to Ross are very useful as well.
I will keep thinking though, I promise!
I also was wondering if if all the Hanna girls wanted to have a small birthday party with me to celebrate my 22nd birthday while I am there, I was thinking girl stuff like hair and nails, movies and such... Let me know what you think!
Well more later....

It has been a long time Wendy......

Hello friends and family,
I thought I should send out a much asked for update on Wesley's and my status.
Wesley recently had his wisdom teeth pulled, two at a time with two weeks in between each visit. He really had it made compared to the way they ripped mine out in bootcamp! He is almost completely healed from that. Getting his wisdom teeth pulled is just one jump through the many hoops that he needs to jump through before he can get a transplant. His Kidney Doctor is optimistic in having the transplant completed before the year is out. We had been waiting on the Doctor's recommendation for transplant, which needed to be obtained by Wesley having stable blood pressure, (which was a problem), good all-around blood test results, success of being on dialysis, and overall excellent general health. We received the phone call from his Doctor a little over a month ago now that Wes was ready to proceed. We were told that the transplant clinic would contact us to set up test dates and tentative transplant dates. We have not heard anything yet and when we spoke to his Doctor again about it he seemed very surprised that we had not been contacted and said he would do something about it. So hopefully we will hear something soon.
As some of you have heard I have recently become a survivor of the H1N1 Flu! I am now almost fully recovered. It was very nerve wracking to have this sickness around Wes. It would NOT HAVE BEEN COOL if Wes had gotten sick! However I came down with symptoms really fast and was able to identify that I had not had very much contact with him prior to feeling ill. We continued to keep contact to nil and wore face masks and went through a lot of hand sanitizer. Within a matter of 4 hours I was feeling the full effects of the dreaded flu. I called in to work to say I would not be coming in. I started feeling severe symptoms towards 1am and was on the phone with a nurse off and on after that. I was trying to hold off going to the emergency room and just waiting to go to my regular doctor's office because the ER was swamped. I made it to my doctor's office in the morning and was confirmed to have the swine flu. They gave me some great drugs..... The next week was totally miserable. Wes was an amazing help, always there to turn up the heat or open a hatch depending on my fever, or just hold my hand sometimes, (going thru a bottle of sanitizer afterwards, being a little over-zealous and getting great globs of the stuff in my eyes *flash-back of being pepper-sprayed*). He probably will not appreciate me mentioning that.... oh well. He was still the best, he didn't want to leave.
I have since recovered and am back at work. Wes is so happy to be able to listen to his news radio stations again. He has been spending his time working around the boat, reading, taking care of the tortoises and frogs, and trying to enjoy life. I have been working towards passing tests at work that will give me the qualifications to perform my job in full. I have also been busy with commissioned artwork and projects around the boat. Life is good right now.
Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers.

~Wes and Elisabeth~
